US Postal Service van catches fire in front of Fort Myers Publix

Fort Myers fire crews battled a fire after a U.S. Postal Service van was engulfed by flames outside Publix at Colonial Crossings Friday morning.

Fire crews responded to the scene near Summerlin Road around 10:15 a.m.

Officers on the scene said an electrical issue was the cause of the fire. No injuries or structural damage were reported from the incident.

NBC2 crews on the scene said the vehicle caught fire near the Publix. Pictures from the scene show what appears to be a U.S. Postal Service van on fire.
