YALOBUSHA WOMAN FOUND SHOT TO DEATH IN TALLAHATCHIE

OAKLAND — Law enforcement agencies in Tallahatchie and Yalobusha counties are pursuing leads in the death of a Coffeeville woman who was found shot to death on a gravel road near here early Thursday.

Tallahatchie County Coroner Ginger Meriwether identified the victim as Hallie Mae Sapp Robertson, 42, of 9509 County Road 212.

“It appears she was shot one time in the head,” said Meriwether, who noted that the death “is being treated as a homicide” and that an autopsy will be conducted at the Mississippi Forensics Laboratory in Pearl.

Information found on Robertson’s Facebook page indicated that she was a “rural carrier associate” for the U.S. Postal Service. Fly said she reportedly was working out of the Batesville Post Office.
