BREVARD, N.C. (WLOS) — A Brevard woman is sharing her story after going more than a month without getting any mail because the U.S. Postal Service (USPS) said her mailbox isn’t in compliance, which she argues isn’t the case.
It all started in late April when Angela Barnes spruced up her mailbox with a few flowers before getting a USPS notice that her carrier had a bee allergy, which is why her mail stopped.
But even after checking the area for hives or swarms and finding nothing – her mail didn’t resume.
The USPS response to the incident was even more puzzling to Barnes. When she heard back from the regional office, she was told that there were no issues and that her mail service would resume.
But that never happened, even after Barnes double-checked that there were no bees nearby.
