Woman dies inside USPS Palmetto facility, medical examiner confirms

A woman died inside the United States Postal Service’s Palmetto facility on Sunday, Aug. 18, the Fulton County Medical Examiner’s office confirmed with 11Alive.

The medical examiner’s office said that 48-year-old Sharon Barnes was found dead inside the facility at 600 Palmetto Logistics Parkway. USPS confirmed the woman was a postal worker with the company.

A USPS spokesperson released the following statement to 11Alive following the death of one of its postal workers at the facility:

“The Postal Service is deeply saddened by the loss of our postal family member. Our condolences and thoughts go out to our employee’s family, friends, and co-workers.”
