Wilmer man facing new indictment in connection with crash that killed postal worker

MOBILE, Ala. – A Wilmer man accused of killing a popular postal worker in a head-on collision two years ago now faces a new indictment.

Aubrey Aaron Pate, 25, had been scheduled to stand trial on Monday on a reckless manslaughter charge. That has been canceled. Instead, he is set to be arraigned on the new indictment.

The offense and possible penalty are the same. But the new indictment alleges that Pate was under the influence of marijuana and/or alcohol at the time. The original indictment alleged only marijuana.
