USPS Prepares for the Macy’s July 4th Fireworks Spectacular

NEW YORK — In the interest of safety and security, postal officials will temporarily seal or remove Postal Service collection boxes on Wednesday, July 3, in New York City.

The familiar blue collection boxes will be inaccessible until reopened on Friday, July 5.

US Mail Collection Boxes impacted at the following locations:

  • West Street, in between Spring Street and West 46th Street
  • Christopher Street, in between West Street and Washington Street
  • West 11th Street, in between West Street and Washington Street
  • West 12th Street, in between West Street and Washington Street
  • West 29th Street, in between West Street and 11th Avenue
  • West 40th Street, in between West Street and 11th Avenue

For additional locations to deposit mail, customers are directed to usps.com and to use Quick Tools to Find Locations. Use the dropdown for collection boxes or post offices to find alternate locations for secure mail deposits in the immediate area.
