The Postal Service is continuing to modernize existing infrastructure through the installation of new, upgraded package processing equipment. New equipment investments will increase package sorting throughputs, increase automation capabilities for larger packages, and increase address readability. Equipment upgrades are planned in locations where additional processing capacity is needed or where end-of-life equipment replacement is needed.
