A letter carrier is now recovering after being stabbed multiple times in Kokomo Tuesday.
Just after 6 p.m., the Kokomo Police Department responded to a report of a female United States Post Office letter carrier stabbed in the 800 block of North Main Street, near 10th Street.
Shortly after the stabbing happened, officers were dispatched to two separate crashes at Markland Avenue and Jay Street and Markland Avenue and Ohio Street.
According to the KPD, the suspect vehicle in both incidents fled from the first crash at a high rate of speed and was stopped when it crashed into another vehicle at Ohio Street.
During the investigation, police identified a 62-year-old Kokomo woman as the suspect in the stabbing of the letter carrier and the ensuing crashes.
She was later taken into custody for attempted murder, aggravated battery, criminal recklessness, intimidation with a deadly weapon, possession of methamphetamine and possession of paraphernalia.
