RIO LINDA, CA — The U.S. Postal Service will present Letter Carrier Bob Cary at Rio Linda Post Office, with a certificate recognizing 60 years of service during a ceremony at an 8:00 a.m. ceremony, Wednesday, September 9, 2026, at Rio Linda Post Office, located at 801 M. Street, Rio Linda, CA 95673.
When Cary began his postal career in 1970 after serving in the military, a postage stamp cost six cents, gasoline was 36 cents a gallon and a dozen eggs was 61 cents. Throughout all the changes, Cary has continued to deliver mail for six decades and has served many generations of families.
“Bob is one of the longest-serving letter carriers in Rio Linda,” said Rio Linda Postmaster Jagdeep Bains. “This is a tremendous milestone, and we are very proud of the service Bob continues to give to his customers.”
The Postal Service is proud to recognize employees who go above and beyond in service to their communities. Their dedication exemplifies the Postal Service’s mission of binding the nation together.
