Video shows Chatham Fire Department Station 58 responding to a U.S. Postal Service vehicle that became partially submerged in floodwaters on Route 295.
The footage shows a white mail truck sitting in deep water along the flooded roadway as a red Rescue 58-42 fire engine arrives with emergency lights flashing.
Firefighters assist the mail carrier after bringing the individual to safety. The carrier is seen standing on the rear platform of the fire truck during the rescue.
Heavy rain left parts of Route 295 flooded, with vehicles carefully moving through the water. A large truck passing through the flooded road created a wake while other traffic navigated the affected area.
Chatham Fire Department Station 58 responded to the incident in late July 2026, and crews from Rescue 58-42 successfully rescued the mail carrier from the partially submerged vehicle.
