USPS dedicates its Holiday Cheer stamps at the National Postal Museum

The Postal Service dedicated its Holiday Cheer stamps on Sept. 13 in Washington, DC.

The stamps feature four images: a holly wreath, three amaryllis flowers, cardinals perched on mistletoe, and an evergreen branch decorated with fruit.

The four Holiday Cheer stamps highlight seasonal flora and fauna.

“With colder days and longer nights approaching, these stamps offer a fresh and festive way to brighten up our holiday cards and letters — in turn, brightening the lives of our friends and loved ones,” said Michael J. Elston, USPS labor relations vice president, who spoke at the ceremony.

The ceremony was held during a holiday-themed event at the National Postal Museum that included other activities such as crafts, games and story time for children.

Derry Noyes, an art director for USPS, designed the stamps with artwork by Denise Fiedler, who created the images using collages of painted paper from a vintage garden book.

The stamps are available in booklets of 20 at Post Offices and on usps.com.
