Updates – Weather Impacting the US Postal Service – Hurricane Helene 10/01/24

Hurricane Helene, flooding, and severe weather events in the Southeastern U.S. (FL, GA, SC, NC, AL, TN, KY, and VA) may impact the processing, transportation, and delivery of mail and packages

 

Tennessee

9-30-24

Operations at the facilities listed below are temporarily suspended due to safety concerns.

  • Mountain City Post Office, 216 College St., 37683
  • Trade Post Office, 164 Highway 67 N, 37691

All retail operations have been moved to the following alternate location:

  • Mountain City Post Office Parking Lot Mobile Unit, 216 College St., 37683

There will be no change to delivery services, however, any left notice parcels or letters will be available the next business day at the Mountain City Post Office Parking Lot Mobile Unit. PO Box Mail will be available for pick up after 11 a.m. Retail hours of operation are Monday through Friday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Saturday, 10 a.m. to noon.

Operations at the following facility is temporarily suspended:

  • Hartford, 3603 Hartford Rd., 37753

Operations have been moved to the following alternate location:

  • Cosby Post Office, 4402 Hooper Hwy, 37722

Retail hours of operation for Cosby Post Office are Monday through Friday, 7:30 a.m. to noon, and 1 p.m. to 3:30 p.m., and Saturday, 7:30 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Flag Pond, 1305 Rice Creek Rd., 37657 — Resumed operations.

All retail and delivery operations for facilities in the 315 and 316 3-Digit Zip Code Areas are temporarily suspended except for the facility exceptions noted below due to the Hurricane Helene impacts.

    • Ruskin Post Office, 455 N US Highway 41, 33570 — All operations have been moved to Sun City Post Office, 4449 Old Highway 41 S, 33586. Retail hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to noon, 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. Closed Saturday.
    • Bradenton Beach Post Office, 116 Bridge Street, 34217 — All operations have been moved to Longboat Key Post Office, 560 Bay Isles Rd., 34228. Retail hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.

    The following locations have resumed normal operations.

    • Longboat Key, 560 Bay Isles Rd., 34228 — Operations have resumed. Retail hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., and Saturday, 9 a.m. to noon.
