U.S. Postal Inspection Service, NOPD arrest suspect in alleged carjacking of postal worker

A man has been arrested for allegedly carjacking a postal worker in Hollygrove Monday, Dec. 16.

Jody Harris was identified by U.S. Postal Inspection Service and local law enforcement as the suspect in the robbery.

According to the New Orleans Police Department, the carjacking was reported in the 8400 block of Forshey Street around 1:30 p.m.

Police confirmed the victim was a postal worker and the delivery truck was taken in the robbery.

The investigation has been taken over by the United States Postal Inspection Service, according to police.

Harris was charged with armed robbery and other narcotics-related charges
