Tornado confirmed in Lawrence causing property damage, overturned USPS trucks

The summary from the NWS said trees fell onto parts of the gas station causing some damage and breaking a sign. The tornado also tossed two large clothing donation bins into the nearby brush.

“Surveillance footage from the service center showed a distinct convergent nature and shift to the winds as the damage occurred,” the summary said.

The tornado also hit the Circle Branch Post Office on Brunswick Pike in Lawrenceville. The roof was damaged and several vehicles in the parking lot were overturned, according to the police press release.

Metal roofing and an HVAC unit were blown off the roof of the post office, several trees toppled, and signs were blown down and carried about 250 yards across the highway.
