This DeWitt mailman loves snow so much, he’s turned his yard into sledding trails for the kids

DeWitt, N.Y. — If you build your own snowmaker, the kids will come. With their sleds.

That’s exactly what Doug Lawrence, a dad of two, mail carrier and avid skier, likes to see.

About seven years ago, when his kids were much younger, Lawrence started making snow when Mother Nature didn’t cooperate. Over the years, the vision, and the snow-making machines, grew. When suburban yards around him stay green and bare in mid-winter, his sticks out with its abundant white stuff.

This winter, he’s built six different sledding tracks.

The kids have named them: Mohawk, Gravity (or Butt Bruiser), Tunnel of Doom, Swirla and Lila’s Run.
