Background:
This annual event is a tradition with Daniel Hirai, Los Angeles Plant Manager and his team. They will share information on the holiday preparations occurring at the LAP&DC (the largest postal facility in the United States), giving the media opportunity to film and interview postal management. This will also be a chance for media to obtain b roll footage of the facility.
The Postal Service is ready to deliver for the holidays, maintaining high service standards and meeting our mandate to deliver six days a week to nearly 169 million addresses across the country. Everyone living in the United States and its territories has access to postal products and services. Currently, 98 percent of the nation’s population receives their mail and packages in less than three days.
As part of our 10-year Delivering for America plan, USPS has dedicated nearly $17.3 billion from the Delivering for America plan’s $40 billion self-funded investment budget to drive the transformation of the postal network and accommodate growing customer demand for package delivery.
A new shipping option this year is USPS Ground Advantage, a service that provides a simple, reliable and affordable way to ship packages with day certain delivery of 2-5 business days based on distance.
