CLEVELAND, Ohio — For the second time in a little more than a decade, the Gates Mills postmaster is facing charges of stealing from the post office.
Federal prosecutors on Wednesday charged postmaster Mary Cardille with misappropriating post office funds. Officials said she took about $14,000.
Prosecutors charged Cardille, 62, of Macedonia, by way of an information, meaning she agreed to bypass grand jury proceedings. Such filings typically indicate that a defendant intends to plead guilty. An arraignment date has not yet been set.
