This bipartisan legislation would provide $7 billion in funding for the Postal Service to secure its infrastructure, including the installation of high-security collection boxes and the replacement of items carried by letter carriers with more secure electronic versions.

The Postal Service and the National Association of Letter Carriers (NALC) continue to negotiate to reach a new contract but are also moving forward with preparations for a potential interest arbitration. 

With this long and proven record of service to the American people, it’s hard to understand why the U.S. Treasury has persistently and unfairly tapped the retirement funds of this essential workforce for over half a century.

Pursuant to the memorandum of understanding MOU Re: Extension of the Technology Integrated Alternate Route Evaluation and Adjustment Process 2022-2023 (M-01998), NALC and the Postal Service have agreed to an extension of the joint route evaluation and adjustment process until May 31, 2024.

As the time approaches for the first NGDVs to be produced and delivered, the Postal Service has determined what it considers to be the best mix of vehicles for the future.

NALC is heartbroken to learn that Stephen Vozzella, a member of Branch 241, was a victim of the horrific shootings in Lewiston, ME on Wednesday.
