Springfield Postal Workers Union to oversee election mail this year

The American Postal Workers Union in Springfield will be overseeing election mail this year.

Several months ago there were talks of moving the Springfield processing site to St. Louis, however with the election coming up these plans have been delayed.

According to Johnny Bishop, union president for American Postal Workers, the local union in Springfield has been chosen by its national headquarters in Washington DC to monitor election mail.

He said there will be a 24-hour facility and the union itself will have seven people around the clock monitoring the mail.

The plans of moving the Springfield processing site to St. Louis has been delayed due to election season.
