South Dakota postal workers blindsided by operation changes

SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) – While the “Delivering for America Plan” has been stalled after facing some pushback from business owners and postal workers, a new proposal has been made.

After a pre-filing meeting on Thursday, the US Postal Service intends to send it to the Postal Regulatory Commission before it can go through.

The new plan is a change of operational strategies that includes adjustments to pickup and drop-off times, new ZIP Code standards and expanded daily reach for most classes of mail.

According to USPS, it’s intended to save costs, maintain or improve service and allow for a higher volume of mail.

However, postal workers question whether it will do what the Postmaster General said it will.

To some postal workers, it felt like they’d been left in the dark
