Signed, sealed, delivered: Henery Clayton Calloway retires from postal service after 30 years

A local postal worker who spent the past three decades with the United States Postal Service retired May 31.

Stephens County resident Henery Clayton Calloway, born and raised in Atlanta Georgia, celebrated 30 years with the postal service as a mail carrier.

Prior to working for the post office, Calloway, 57, said he worked with his dad hanging sheet rock until his was 21 years old.

After deciding to join the military, Calloway met his wife while stationed at Fort Sill in 1991 and the two were married in 1992.

Over the next six years, Calloway spend time in the United States Army’s 82nd Airborne division.

Calloway said his favorite part of the military was jump school.

Following Calloway’s military stint, he began his career with the postal service in 1996 at the Marlow Post Office before moving to the Corpus Christie Post Office.
