Runaway mail truck stopped by Attalla police officer’s ‘rolling roadblock’

An Alabama postal worker narrowly avoided a potentially serious accident thanks to the quick thinking of a deputy police chief.

On Monday, officers received a distress call from a U.S. Postal Service employee whose vehicle was barreling toward a busy downtown intersection after a brake failure, according to the Attalla Police Department.

Jumping into action, Deputy Chief Ryan Condy pulled his truck in front of the runaway mail truck, slowly pumping the brakes to act as a sort of “rolling roadblock.”
