Rochester USPS taking a new approach to attract more workers

ROCHESTER, Minn. (KTTC)—Rochester’s United States Postal Services is looking for new employees to fill the high demand for mail coming in and out of its facilities.

According to the Spotted in Rochester Facebook group, late and missing packages and mail have been residents’ long-standing concerns for years.

Rochester’s Postmaster Todd Holm said employees are retiring, and there are a lot of open positions at their northwest, Bear Creek, and downtown city locations.

But despite community concerns, Holm said their number one priority is getting mail to residents.

“Our goal here is to always satisfy the customer. That’s our main mission and we go till every package is delivered,” Holm said.

The new hiring hub is considered to be a one-stop shop.

USPS hopes it will make the application process easier for people interested in applying.

You’ll be able to go inside the hub to complete an application, take an assessment test, get your fingerprint into the system and hopefully walk away with a new job.

The hub is open every Tuesday, Thursday, Friday and every third Saturday of the month from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
