SOUTH BEND — Police arrested a 43-year-old South Bend woman Monday, after they say she threatened a letter carrier with a knife, and then led authorities on a low-speed pursuit.
The incident started around noon when police received reports that a woman threatened a mail carrier in the 800 block of South Bend Avenue.
A short time later, police got reports that the suspect waived a knife at construction workers in the area of Sample and Sheridan streets. Police tried to stop the vehicle, but the woman continued driving east on Sample at around 10 miles per hour. Police stopped the car at Main and Sample streets and the woman was taken into custody without incident. She was arrested for intimidation and booked into the St Joseph County Jail.
