Woman arrested after stealing postal truck from worker delivering mail

DETROIT — A postal worker was assaulted Wednesday and a woman is in custody after she allegedly stole a U.S. Postal Service truck.

According to WXYZ Detroit, the worker — who was not injured in the attack — was preparing to deliver mail in the 12600 block of Monte Vista around 3 p.m. As the worker was preparing the mail, she was pulled out of the truck by woman who threw the worker to the ground. The suspect got into the postal truck and sped away.

A cash reward was offered by the postal service for information leading to the arrest of the suspect. Around 7 p.m. Wednesday, police were able to capture the female suspect in the 11700 block of Appoline.
