A Union Grove mail carrier was arrested on suspicion of mail fraud and identity theft after she admitted to stealing Menards rebate cards.
In May, the Racine County Sheriff’s Office was contacted by a Union Grove resident who said his Menards rebate card was stolen and used by a stranger at the Mount Pleasant Menards. Upon investigation, the Racine Criminal Investigations Bureau found this had happened to multiple card holders.
Justicia Balogun of Union Grove, a mail carrier in the area, admitted to taking and spending the rebate cards, sheriff’s officials said.
She was arrested on nine counts of mail fraud and seven counts of identity theft.
The sheriff’s office encouraged residents in the area to check the status of their Menards rebate card if they have not received it. If the card has been used without authorization, residents can call (262) 636-3175 to report the theft
