CAMDEN – A Sicklerville man has admitted to stealing about $34,500 while serving as an official with the American Postal Workers Union.
Robert Peter, 58, diverted union funds by writing eight checks to himself worth $22,500 and by withdrawing $12,000 from ATMs in Atlantic City, according to the U.S. Attorney’s Office for New Jersey.
Peter was secretary-treasurer for Local 526 when the thefts occurred between in May and June of 2018, the federal prosecutor’s office said in a statement.
