
A woman has been arrested in Rhea County after she was found driving under-the-influence last Saturday.
35-year-old Melissa Chance of Dayton, Tennessee, was stopped by Rhea County officials on State Highway 60 after she was found driving a red mail Jeep.
Officials say they found in her possession numerous prescription drugs, gift cards, and numerous personal belongings that had been sent through the United States Postal Service.
Officials say the mail was addressed to various individuals ranging from Ooltewah, Hixson, Soddy Daisy, Sale Creek, and Dayton, Tennessee. There were more than 175 un-opened packages and about 100 pieces of opened mail.
Detective Charlie Jenkins and Sergeant Stephen Husky from the Rhea County Sheriffs Department contacted the United States Postal Inspectors about the mail theft, and the mail is currently under investigation.
