Rhea County deputies arrest mail carrier for DUI, stolen mail and prescription drugs
A woman has been arrested in Rhea County after she was found driving under-the-influence last Saturday.
35-year-old Melissa Chance of Dayton, Tennessee, was stopped by Rhea County officials on State Highway 60 after she was found driving a red mail Jeep.
Officials say they found in her possession numerous prescription drugs, gift cards, and numerous personal belongings that had been sent through the United States Postal Service.
Officials say the mail was addressed to various individuals ranging from Ooltewah, Hixson, Soddy Daisy, Sale Creek, and Dayton, Tennessee. There were more than 175 un-opened packages and about 100 pieces of opened mail.
