A 33-year-old man was fatally shot outside a Bronx public-housing development, cops said Monday — leaving his mother to clean his blood from the sidewalk hours later.
Rikona “Bud” Kirby was slain during an argument outside the Castle Hill Houses on Lacombe Ave. near Castle Hill Ave. about 9:55 p.m. Sunday.
Kirby had been working for the U.S. Postal Service as a mail processor at a White Plains post office for the past six years, taking advantage of every chance to work overtime.
“He was strictly work to home, work to home,” his mother said. “He didn’t hang around.”
When he wasn’t working, he spent time with his two nieces, ages 13 and 23, and loved to travel.
