The battle over residential parking spaces in Jersey City is escalating.
For years, Jersey City officials have feuded with the United States Postal Service over parking spaces. Post office trucks, which lack license plates and residential permits, often park overnight in Jersey City with impunity, ignoring local parking tickets.
We’ve had issues for years w/ @USPS trucks parking illegally near #JerseyCity post offices – crosswalks, fire hydrants, fire lanes, bike lanes, sidewalks – often overnight. This endangers children, pedestrians, cyclists & other motorists + takes up resident overnight parking. 1/3 pic.twitter.com/SrAiDoLCqx
