An inspector general report has said that dissatisfaction among Postal Service employees is high by several measures, including the agency’s own internal surveying and an IG study of how employees rate the USPS on several job websites.
The IG found that on two major job websites, high ratings (4 or 5 stars out of a possible 5 stars) outnumbered low ratings (1 or 2 stars out of a possible 5 stars) among career employees in 2016, 2017 and 2021, but low ratings outnumbered high ratings in 2018 and 2019.
Overall ratings of the Postal Service declined or stayed the same in 2021 compared to 2016 while ratings for other shipping and logistics companies also declined or stayed the same “but these ratings fell at a slower rate and continued to be higher than the Postal Service’s ratings,” it said.
