Postal delivery getting better, but not back to pre-pandemic levels, tests suggest

CLEVELAND, Ohio – Mail delivery times have been improving, but a small test conducted by cleveland.com and The Plain Dealer suggests they are still not meeting the U.S. Postal Service standard for most domestic mail of 1 to 3 days.

In the first of what we envision as periodic tests, we mailed letters first-class to eight homes in four states – California, Maryland, Ohio and Virginia from the Beachwood Post Office on Green Road shortly after 9 a.m. on Feb. 25.

And all but one letter took four days or more to arrive at their destinations.
