
The U.S. Postal Service has set up Mobile Retail Units, essentially a post office on wheels, at office locations in Lafourche and Terrebonne parishes damaged by Hurricane Ida.
The Mobile Retail Units are located on-site and provide service Monday through Saturday from 10 a.m. until 2 p.m. At these mobile units, customers can conduct postal retail transactions, fill out change-of-address and hold-mail forms as well as pick up their P.O. box mail with proper identification.
Hurricane Ida damaged five of the eight U.S. Post Offices in Lafourche Parish and one of the eight offices in Terrebonne Parish, the Postal Service says.
