Police in Lancaster County say icy roads are to blame for a fiery crash between a police vehicle and a mail truck.
East Lampeter Township police say the mail truck lost control around 3:30 p.m. Monday on an icy bridge along Hartman Station Road. The mail truck then hit an East Lampeter Township police vehicle near the intersection with Geist Road and burst into flames, police said.
According to police, the officer pulled the mail carrier from the burning vehicle.
Both drivers were taken to a hospital with injuries that aren’t life-threatening, police said.
