Senator John Hoeven today held a roundtable with Douglas Stephens, Dakotas District Manager for the United States Postal Service (USPS), as well as USPS leadership from Bismarck and Fargo to address issues surrounding mail service in these regions. Hoeven has been working throughout his time in the Senate to ensure the USPS maintains quality service throughout the state.
The senator organized today’s meeting after receiving a recent batch of complaints from local residents and businesses. Hoeven’s office brought the matter to the attention of the USPS leadership in the region and continues working to ensure that USPS resolves any outstanding issues.
“Individuals, families and businesses rely on the Postal Service every day, oftentimes in ways that affect their livelihoods and well-being,” Hoeven said. “This meeting is about addressing the circumstances that have led to recent lapses in quality mail service and advancing solutions that will prevent future issues. I appreciate District Manager Stephens and his team for their willingness to engage with us and address these matters, and I look forward to continuing to work with them to resolve the remaining issues.”
