The Office of the Inspector General is investigating after a man found a pile of mail thrown in a wooded area outside his northeast Atlanta neighborhood.
Allen Morgan said he was taking his dog for a walk along Fisher Trail Wednesday morning when he noticed something in the woods.
“I just happened to look to my right on the side walk and there was just pile of trash and my first thought was, ‘What terrible person would throw this trash here??’” Morgan said to Channel 2’s Alyssa Hyman.
But it wasn’t trash. It was a massive pile of mail.
“There were bank statements, things that looked like bills, then a lot of … looked like Christmas cards maybe or something,” Morgan said.
But the mail appeared to be unopened.
