Looters hit 6 post offices in Chicago area, now a reward is offered
At least six U.S. Postal Service locations were targeted during widespread looting in Chicago late Sunday and early Monday, according to the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. A reward is being offered for information that leads investigators to the responsible people.
Mail and other property were taken from post offices at 1240 North Ashland in Wicker Park and 1419 West Carroll in the West Loop. Burglars also struck Postal Service locations at:
- 611 West 63rd Street
- 3933 West North Avenue
- 6559 South Ashland
- 4601 South Cottage Grove
The Postal Inspection Service is offering a reward of up to $10,000 for info that results in the arrest and conviction of the thieves. Anyone with information can contact postal inspectors at 877-876-2455 regarding case 3083553.
