ALLEGAN, Mich. — The driver of the truck that crashed into a mail carrier and killed a postal worker in Allegan County will serve time in the county jail.
Spencer Baird, 36, of Plainwell, pleaded no contest to one count of a moving violation causing death in Allegan County Court on July 16, 2020. Allegan County District Court Judge Joseph Skocelas sentenced Baird to a 20-day sentence in the Allegan County Jail followed by one year of probation and a $2,000 fine.
The maximum penalty for a moving violation causing death is a one year jail term with a $2,000 fine.
