Former Moab Post Office employee pleads guilty to mail theft

A former Moab Post Office employee pleaded guilty this week to mail theft by a postal employee. Legal representation for Richard C. Davis reached a plea deal with the U.S. Attorney’s Office for Davis to serve 24 months of probation and 100 hours of community service as part of the deal. Davis had originally pleaded not guilty in January to the charge.

Davis’s guilty plea comes one year after the Inspector General of the United States Postal Service opened an investigation into allegations from local residents that their mail was getting stolen from the Moab Post Office.
