EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — A man was arrested for stealing a United States Postal Service van from El Paso and leading deputies on a chase in Van Horn, Texas.
23-year-old Deminte Jackson from Phoenix, Arizona reportedly stole the truck Wednesday morning, Culberson County Sheriff Oscar Carrillo stated on Facebook.
Carillo said that deputies saw the USPS van parked along a dirt road near the Sheriff’s Office firing range in the east of town.
Deputies reportedly interrupted Jackson as he was opening mail and packages.
Jackson took off leading deputies on a chase. Officials said he drove onto the Van Hor Airport runway.
Jackson was eventually taken into custody and will be surrendered to U.S. Postal authorities for prosecution, Carrillo stated.
