The Postal Service made its commitment to addressing climate change clear by publishing its first-ever Climate Action Plan last year.

The plan is organized around five priority actions: education, identification of weaknesses, protection of facilities, protection of supply chain and logistics, and planning for change. These actions will allow USPS to better prepare for climate variations.

By integrating best climate practices and procedures into strategic planning now, the Postal Service can help protect its operations, workforce and reputation in the decades to come.

The Postal Service encourages employees to review the plan and email sustainability@usps.gov with any questions, ideas and suggestions that could inform the organization’s climate change strategy.

This is the third in a series of three articles detailing the Postal Service’s efforts to address climate change.
