10-year prison term for killing of retired postmaster and Vietnam veteran in Marion County
At the beginning of the month, a jury found David Joseph Dillberg guilty of first-degree murder in the death of an elderly government employee and war veteran.
A few weeks later, a second person charged in the case, Chase Robert Freeman, decided not to take his chance with a jury and instead agreed to a plea deal worked out by his lawyer and prosecutors.
Dillberg, 22, was sentenced to life in prison by Circuit Judge Steven Rogers. Freeman, 23, received a 10-year prison term Friday morning from the same judge.
