Postal worker shot during carjacking describes painful recovery at attacker’s sentencing

A federal judge in U.S. District Court sentenced Jaden Garay to 24 years and restitution of $640,582 owed to victim Teresa Ramsay, who was the U.S. postal carrier shot in the face nearly two years ago.

“The bullet literally came within a hair’s breath of my carotid” said Ramsay standing outside the courthouse after sentencing.

“I really, really, appreciated he (the judge) said, even if the state chooses to try with attempted murder, that it will run consecutive,” Ramsay said. “I was worried about that.”
