Postal worker killed, several injured in Northport, AL crash

NORTHPORT, Ala. (WBRC) – The United State Postal Service (USPS) has confirmed that the woman killed in a four-vehicle crash in Northport Wednesday was an employee.

Police identified the woman as 36-year-old Vonchelle Renee Gamble, of Tuscaloosa.

Police say the crash happened at approximately 12:39 p.m. in the Southbound lanes of Highway 43 just south of Highway 171.

Gamble was pronounced dead on the scene, while three other people were treated on the scene for minor injuries.

Northport Police are investigating the cause of the crash, but say that no criminal charges are currently pending.
