Postal worker killed in crash that flipped vehicle

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – A 40-year-old postal worker died Tuesday after a multiple-vehicle crash on 103rd Street.

The report from the Florida Highway Patrol said the postal worker was driving east on 103rd Street just before 4 p.m. When she attempted to make a left turn onto Lambing Avenue, a white SUV headed west in the left lane on 103rd Street hit her.

The collision flipped the postal vehicle onto its side, and it was then hit by a gray sedan that was also traveling west on 103rd Street.

The postal worker died at the scene. The 58-year-old woman driving the sedan and the 45-year-old woman driving the SUV, who were both wearing their seat belts, suffered minor injuries, the report stated.

News4JAX received this statement from the United States Postal Service for a statement:

“The Postal Service is deeply saddened by the loss of our postal family member. Our condolences and thoughts go out to her family, friends, and co-workers.  Local authorities continue to investigate the incident.”
