Postal Worker Arrested for Allegedly Selling Crack Cocaine on Duty at NY Post Office

HERKIMER, N.Y. — A Rome man is accused of selling crack cocaine from the Herkimer Post Office, where he was employed.

Jaquan Brown, 33, faces three counts of criminal sale of a controlled substance.

He was arrested in the post office parking lot on Nov. 7.

“All sales were conducted while Brown was on-duty at the Post Office over the past few months,” according to the Herkimer Police Department.

With the help of the New York State Police K9 Unit and members of the NYSP Special Investigations Unit, a search warrant was executed on Brown’s vehicle.

At the end of the search, Brown was found to be in possession of 7 grams of crack cocaine.

Herkimer Police stated that they conducted the investigation in collaboration with the United States Postal Service Office of Inspector General.

HPD indicated that additional arrests are anticipated.
