SHOW LOW, AZ (AZFamily) — At least one person is dead after a crash on a northern Arizona freeway on Tuesday morning.
The Arizona Department of Public Safety says it is investigating a deadly crash involving a semi-truck that happened on the U.S. 60 near milepost 328, about 15 miles south of Show Low.
Officers responded to the crash around 1:45 a.m. as the semi-truck was fully engulfed in flames. The driver was found dead in the cab of the semi-truck.
DPS said the truck was carrying mail, but no mail was reported damaged.
Preliminary information found that the semi-truck possibly struck a deer before the driver lost control and caused the semi to roll over.
Both directions of traffic were blocked as authorities responded to the crash, but the roadway has since reopened.
