Police responded to a post office in Boston’s Dorchester neighborhood early Friday morning for an incident involving a leaking package.

According to Boston police, officers were called to the Grove Hall Post Office located at 647 Warren Street around 6:30 a.m. for a report of a package that had leaked during the scanning process and come into contact with an employee’s skin.

That employee reported feeling itchy, police said, and Boston EMS responded to the scene and took the person to a local hospital for an evaluation.

The Boston Fire Department has since determined that the material was nonhazardous, police added. There’s no word on what the substance was.
