Marina police are investigating a shooting that took place at the United States Postal Service building Saturday morning.

Upon arrival, police said that shots were fired, but no one was struck, and the suspect had fled the scene.

Boukary Fofana, an employee of the post office, was identified as the suspect, said police.

With assistance from Monterey County sheriff’s deputies, Fofana was located at his residence and was taken into custody without incident, said police.

This appears to be an isolated incident, and there is no longer any threat to the public at this time, according to police.

The U.S. Postal Inspector’s Office has been contacted and is working with police on this investigation.

Anyone with information is urged to call the Marina Police Department.
