Person injured after 3 tractor-trailers carrying raw chicken, mail collide in Cumberland County

A crash involving multiple tractor-trailers in Cumberland County injured one person and shut down a stretch of Interstate 81 for many hours on Wednesday, according to PennDOT.

Three tractor-trailers collided in the northbound lanes in Southampton Township near Exit 29, King Street/Route 174, around 3:30 a.m.

PennDOT said one tractor-trailer was carrying raw chicken, and another one was hauling mail.

One person was transported to the hospital, according to officials. The extent of their injuries is unknown.
